Ricky J. Parisian Scholarship Recipients

Every year in May, the Ricky J. Parisian Memorial Scholarship Foundation presents a scholarship to an Oneonta High School graduating senior. The award follows the student through four years of college provided the student continues to meet scholarship criteria and acceptable performance in her or his educational program.

Welcome Anthony Giovagnoli – 2019 Recipient!

Anthony Giovagnoli, 2019 Recipient

Tony, as with all recipients, was selected as the recipient of the Ricky J. Parisian Scholarship in recognition of demonstrating respect, integrity, honesty, & responsibility. He is kind, considerate, and dedicated to his family, friends, and classmates/teammates. While at OHS, Tony was the Senior Class Treasurer. He was described by teachers as one they would frequently hear encouraging classmates and supporting fellow students in their chosen activities. With a warm sense of humor, he made all feel included. Tony immersed himself in the school community. In addition to being a Senior Class Officer, he was a member of SADD, served on the Leadership Link Crew, and was the 2019 President of Future Business Leaders Association. Tony served multiple years as Team Captain in varsity sports; football & wrestling. In both, he was All Conference First Team twice. Tony also managed to dedicate much time to community service as volunteer referee for Pee Wee Football and promoting youth wrestling assisting at local wrestling tournaments. He mentored students at Riverside Elementary that found school difficult. Though running wasn’t his ‘sport’, he participated in the Turkey Trot, Pathfinder Run, and volunteered at the Pit Run. Tony will be attending Ithaca College. He will major in Sports Management in the Business School and minor in Communications. He will also be a member of the Ithaca College Bombers Wresting Team.
